Jomolhari to Laya Gasa
This trek is the best combination of the Jomolhari and Laya Gasa treks. It begins from Paro in the west and follows the old trade route to Tibet and then winds up northward through the secluded valleys of Lingshi & Chebisa and the beautiful valley of Laya. After Laya, the trek turns southward to Gasa, where you can soak in the natural hot springs to ease your muscles. Finally, the trek ends in Punakha after passing through semi-tropical forests. The highlight of this trek is the camping at the base of the beautiful peaks Jomolhari, Tsherim Gang, Jichu Drake, Great Tiger Mountain (Gang Chen Ta) and several others. Wild life such as the Takin and Blue Sheep can be seen and if you are lucky you might just spot a snow leopard! It can be a truly rewarding trek if one is physically fit to trek for the first three days after which he/she acclimatizes for the rest of the trek.
